Socialization/Psycho-Phobia rethinking mental illness

Socialization – Psycho-Phobia
Care is About Caring
a work in progress experiential experimental non-linear film
exploring Socialization and Rethinking Mental Illness

we don’t grow up in a State of Empathy but in middle of an united states of dysfunction – our societies are built on fear and punishment! – and for those of us who have had a profound fear, trauma, or abuse experience in early childhood we develop survival mechanism that, we think, work for us as a child, but as we get older those survival mechanism not only work against us the unintended consequence can be catastrophic especially if, there is nobody who cares enough to care enough about us to talk to us… as a result we don’t know what we don’t know… and are judged by others and society as if we are supposed to know what we don’t know! and so we wind up out of control and even more fearful, isolated, depression, suicidal, behavioral issues with diagnosis and in mental or criminal institutions – what is missing is society built on a State of Empathy

“Therefore anyone who wants to know the human psyche would be
better advised to abandon exact science, put away his scholar’s
gown, bid farewell to his study, and wander with human heart
through the world. There, in the horrors of prisons, lunatic asylums
and hospitals, in drab suburban pubs, in brothels and gambling-hells,
in the salons of the elegant, the Stock Exchanges, Socialist
meetings, churches and revivalist gatherings and ecstatic sects,
through love and hate, he would reap richer stores of knowledge
than text-books a foot thick would give him, and he would know how
to doctor the sick with real knowledge of the human soul.”
Carl Gustav Jung.

Paranoid by Issa Ibrahim, singer/songwriter, aka IZ from GEwIZ. After the song we continue with brief conversation about the song and his insight into paranoia, after glimpsing himself in the mirror and being paranoid about the person in the mirror “I’m paranoid and I don’t know why? Feels like someone starring at me through my own eye, when i look in the mirror i can’t linger too long… because I’m paranoid… (note: (song starts after about 25sec intentionally left the silence in to give time to pause and think about paranoia the title and what’s to come next)
